Letter from the Chorale President

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to serve again as President of the Brazos Valley Chorale as we begin our 56th season of choral art.  “Music Through Time and Space” promises to be a very exciting season that includes our being part of some 300 voices in performing Te Deum with the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra.  We will also return to a format for one of our concerts that we have not offered since 2019:  a dinner concert at the new College Station Visitors Center.

Our ensemble includes dedicated people from all walks of life that include both high school and college students along with those in retirement and every age in between. They all love to present great choral music as well as enjoy the camaraderie of others who enjoying singing. We are excited to sing again under the direction of Dr. Thomas Gerber, our Artistic Director & Conductor. Tom also serves as the Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Texas A&M University where he conducts the Century Singers and the Women’s Chorus.

Our goal has always been to promote and celebrate singing and the choral arts in the Brazos Valley and beyond. In order to continue that endeavor, we are seeking donations to help cover the costs of the organization. All of our singers are volunteers, but as a non-profit 501(c)(3), we still have a variety of operating expenses. Those expenditures include the professional services of our Artistic Director, Accompanist, and Administrator as well as occasional professional instrumentalists. We also must purchase or rent sheet music, rent our practice and performance venues, and maintain our musical instruments and equipment along with many other incidental costs. We depend on contributions for 25% of our budget. To contribute to the Brazos Valley Chorale, you can simply send a check to the address shown above, or you can donate online through our website at bvchorale.org/donate-now. We also invite corporate sponsorships at bvchorale.org/become-sponsor.

While we are sending this letter to you through postal mail, I highly encourage your also subscribing to our email list where we can quickly bring you up to date on each of our concerts and other events involving the Chorale. And fear not, you will not receive spam nor other unsolicited messages through that list.  If you are not already subscribed, please go to bvchorale.org/stay-in-touch and enter your name and email address.  Or reach out to us using the contact information above.

We thank you for your continued support of our organization as we strive to bring great choral singing to the people of the Brazos Valley.

Chris Caffee,  President
